Ski Bradford, in conjunction with Rec, offers a six week, after-school ski and snowboard program for middle and elementary school students attending school at participating schools in Andover. This popular program, for students with abilities from beginner through advanced, offers lessons, open skiing/snowboarding, and rental packages with varying fees.
Students will be picked up at their school at the end of the school day, bused to Bradford Ski Area, and bused back to their school by about 6:30 pm. There are high school and college aged monitors along with the adult Rec supervisors and the Bradford Ski Area staff who will be greeting them at their schools, riding the bus, and assisting them at Bradford.
While Rec & Bradford staff members are readily available to help with equipment, supervising, & monitoring on the hill and in the lodge, children must be able to ski/snowboard independently.
Please note that Rec staff does assist children in getting to their lessons and encourages children to always attend lessons if they have been registered in that package. However, if a child chooses not to attend their lesson, or leaves a lesson early, Rec will not be able to issue refunds.

Rec will send emails home after 12:00 noon to notify parents. Rec programs are not held when schools are closed and on early release days.

All beginners are required to take lessons. If your child is a novice, intermediate, or advanced, you may choose not to enroll your child in lessons. To help prevent injury, please be aware of your child’s skill level. If the ski instructor feels your child’s ability is higher or lower than his/her class, the instructor will change your child’s lesson accordingly. Once enrolled in a level, children will remain in it until the instructor determines otherwise.

* Please note that Rec staff does assist children in getting to their lessons and encourages children to always attend lessons if they have been registered in that package. However, if a child chooses not to attend their lesson, or leaves a lesson early, Rec will not be able to issue refunds.

Label skis or snowboard, poles, boots, bags, and helmets clearly using ELECTRICAL tape or DUCT tape.  Tie skis and poles together and put boots in a tote bag. Parents, please bring the equipment to school on your child’s scheduled day and leave it in the designated area. Children must be able to carry their own equipment - please pack accordingly in appropriate bags. Rec is not responsible for lost equipment.

The Slope Snack Bar at Bradford will be open before and after lessons for participants to purchase food & drinks. You may also bring a snack from home to be eaten at the lodge. Food and drinks are not allowed to be eaten on the busses. NOTE: There is no scheduled snack break. Children are responsible for their own snack/break time and food purchases.

Parent Pick-up

Children may not leave early or stay at Bradford Ski Area beyond the scheduled time of departure unless a signed permission letter is delivered to the monitor before leaving the school for the ski area. Children may not take a different bus home at anytime. For your child’s safety, please adhere to these guidelines. If a parent picks up a child without telling a monitor, they will forfeit the next week of skiing without a refund. It is the parent’s responsibility to pick up their children promptly; schools will be locked when we return.
